THE OENOLOGICAL EVENTS AT THE CAMPSITE

In 2019, our campsite was awarded the “Vignobles & Découvertes” label. A guarantee of a successful wine tourism holiday, this label is awarded by Atout France to promote wine tourism destinations with a tourism offer featuring multiple complementary products: accommodation, restaurants, cellar tours and tastings, museum visits or events… These options make it easy for our customers to to organise their stay and find qualified services.

Between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary, La Pointe du Médoc campsite is located in a prestigious wine region. The Médoc is a region with a rich terroir, with vineyards and châteaux of international renown. The strength of this wine-growing region lies in the production of exceptional wines. Producing mainly red wines, the Médoc vineyards are divided into 8 appellations: Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Moulie-en-Médoc, Listrac-Médoc and Saint-Julien. There are also two classifications for Médoc wines:

• The historic classification of 1855 with the great classified growths of Bordeaux (Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Margaux, Château Latour, Sauternes…)
• A more recent one, from 1932, which groups together the Crus Bourgeois.

Every evening during the week in summer, the campsite offers a wine tasting, for connoisseurs and novices alike. One of our partner wineries will be on hand to show you the ropes. To take part in this oenological activity, meet up next to the reception from 6 pm!

During your stay, our guides and receptionists will be on hand to give you all the information you need to explore the Médoc and its winegrowing treasures. Some of our many local partners will be delighted to welcome you on your wine outings: Château Saint-Hilaire, Château Saint Aubin, Château Castera and Château Carménère.

You can continue your wine tour along the magnificent and famous Médoc wine route. From Le Verdon-sur-Mer to Bordeaux, travel through some of the world’s best-known AOCs, including Margaux, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. Take the opportunity to discover the great châteaux of the Médoc (Margaux, Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, Latour…), without forgetting the smaller family estates who will also open the doors of their cellars for you to share a convivial moment.

Our campsite’s geographical location also means you can discover the other Bordeaux wine regions in the surrounding area: Graves, Sauternes, Blaye and Bourg, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Fronsac, Entre-Deux-Mers, etc.
