The Sunêlia La Pointe du Médoc campsite is located in an area that is ideal for cycling. Near the campsite, we naturally suggest that you spend a day along the Vélodyssée. From Brittany to the Basque Coast, this cycle path runs along the Atlantic coast and crosses our beautiful region. In the Médoc, the Vélodyssée offers you a course between pine forests and beaches, with a superb view of the ocean.

Enthroned at the mouth of the Gironde estuary, the Cordouan lighthouse is one of the most emblematic tourist sites in the Médoc. This lighthouse, whose construction began at the end of the 16th century, is the oldest still in operation, still inhabited and the only one in the world accessible to visitors. The Cordouan lighthouse will also offer you an exceptional view of the Gironde, the Pointe de Grave and the Médoc coasts.

A few kilometers from La Pointe du Médoc campsite, we recommend a detour to visit Soulac-sur-Mer and its lively centre. In this small attractive seaside resort with a rich historical heritage, everyone will find a cultural, sports or relaxation activity to their liking:

• the Soulac villas in the Côte d'Argent or Neo-colonial style;
• the Basilica of Our Lady of the End of the Lands, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site;
• the covered market open all year round;
• beaches for swimming or sports activities.

The Médoc is also a region with a rich and varied terroir and prestigious vineyards (Pauillac, Margaux...). Want to spend a day around wine and grands crus? Take the superb Médoc wine route and discover the most beautiful castles of Gironde. Among the most famous, Château Margaux, Château Lafite Rosthchild, Château Mouton Rosthchild or Château Latour!

How about taking the opportunity to take a scenic stroll along the Gironde estuary? You will find yourself immersed in a remarkably preserved natural site with varied landscapes: wild coves, beaches, ponds, forests, islands, vineyards, fishing squares, small ports (port of Goulé, port of By or port of Saint Christoly for example) . During guided tours, boat cruises, hiking or cycling, you will learn more about the fauna, flora and history of the largest estuary in Europe.

During your stay in Gironde, stroll around the Montalivet market, one of the unmissable events in the Médoc region. At the heart of this market, open 7 days a week, more than 200 stands await you! You will find a wide variety of local products (seasonal fruits and vegetables, meats, fresh fish, wines, regional specialities, etc.). Tasting stands are also available for you to taste local products. Craftsmanship is not to be outdone with clothing, jewelry and decorative items made by the expert hands of our local artisans.

Symbol of the history of Verdon-sur-Mer, the old oyster port is a place not to be missed, not far from our campsite. With its fisherman's huts, this small port offers you another way to eat. The old oyster port is also a place of culture where you will meet many artists (painters, photographers, sculptors…).

As a family, spend a pleasant moment of relaxation on the shores of the Médoc lakes. Lake Lacanau and Lake Carcans-Hourtin are real corners of paradise waiting to be discovered. You can swim or walk in the shade of the maritime pines, but also practice many sporting and fun activities: sailing, water skiing, paddle, canoeing, wakeboarding, splashpark, kitesurfing, etc.

For nature lovers, the Etang de Cousseau nature reserve is a Medoc natural heritage hotspot. In the heart of this protected territory of 600 hectares, discover an unsuspected local fauna and flora. To find out more and imagine the evolution of the landscape over the seasons, opt for one of the many visits with a guide.

The seaside resort of Lacanau-Océan offers you an environment conducive to bike rides: 15 km of fine sandy beaches, a vast pine forest, "Belle Époque" style villas, etc. It is an ideal place for swimming and sports activities, the city being particularly known as a surf spot.
